Can we talk about Michelle Obama for a second?   I mean, I can’t think of a better role model for my daughters.  Hell, I can’t think of a better role model for me.

Her hair is perfectly coiffed on every magazine cover.  Her wardrobe  is both classy and sassy.  Even in casual clothes, Michelle Obama rocks it out.  She is the epitome of “black girl magic”.

And if that wasn’t enough, Mrs Obama has the nerve to be as smart  and charismatic as her history-making husband.

But wait.  There’s more.  This woman has exuded grace at every turn and to me, that is the most amazing thing about her.  People who claimed to be patriots criticized her every action.  They hated her hair, her clothes, and really just about everything she did. She wanted to fight childhood obesity, for goodness sakes, and they even criticized that.

But she flashed her million dollar smile, and danced her way into our hearts.

The grace she has shown has shown in both word and deed, is at least, impressive.

I don’t know what she’ll do next, but she has already shown the world what grace is supposed to look like.

And for that, we all owe her a debt of gratitude.

Thank you, Mrs. Obama, for being a shining example.  I pray that in the future, we honor your legacy, and   I hope that in the coming weeks, we follow your example, by extending grace to everyone we encounter.

Whether they deserve it, or not.
