I live to be affirmed. I want to make people proud of me, but I also want to hear when I have done something right. When I don’t hear those things, my brain begins to search out for what I might have done wrong, and try to find ways to fix it. I doubt that I am alone here, but I also recognize how unhealthy this is. It is simply not sustainable. So, as we dig deeper into this issue over the next few weeks, I want to unpack what I have learned as it relates to affirmation and where it must come from in order for it to provide lasting results and bear fruit in our lives.
