Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
As it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
If I surrender to His Will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with Him
Forever and ever in the next.
Amen

Such a powerful prayer. There are several lines that I’ve put in bold that stand out to me. Different parts speak to me at different seasons in my life. At this particular time, I’m mustering the courage to live, to shift from a dreamer to a doer. I also must accept that all will not be rainbows and butterfiles. Sometimes adversity brings about awesomeness.
I recently finished “Year of Yes” by Shonda Rhimes and it was good! What I learned is that saying yes to life won’t kill you. It’s quite the opposite. Always saying no and closing yourself off from opportunities breeds death. She said yes and was a terrified anxious mess but is better for it in the end.
