In life, we go through seasons. High seasons, low seasons, challenging seasons, exciting seasons, and transition seasons.  The common thread in each of these should be growth.  What did I learn from that season?  How did I grow as a result of that season?  Life is always preparing us for the next season if we will take heed.

When I was training to run my first marathon, I learned the value of discipline, persistence, and hard work. After long months of training, I reaped my reward. I ran my first 26.2-mile marathon.  That experience taught me so many things.  But one of the lessons that remains with me even today is that I can do anything I put my mind to, with God’s help and grace.  There really are no limits if I truly believe and put action to my belief.  Yes, I have faced and will continue to face challenges, but I’m a winner and will overcome them!

It also taught me to enjoy the season I’m in.  Whether it’s preparing for a race, learning a new job, or spending quality time with my children each should be lived to the fullest.  Sometimes, we’re so excited to see what’s next or to leave a difficult season behind that we forget to pick up the lessons we need to learn.  We forget to simply enjoy life and just be present in the moment.  Don’t rush so much ahead that you miss the lesson in the season.

What season are you in today? What are you learning? What is it preparing you for? Never give up along the way because you are learning valuable lessons for the next phase of your life. #teamforward
