The thought of suddenly holding $2 million in my hands just for a writing career is mind blowing. Currently, I find myself juggling many balls including work, motherhood, ministry, volunteerism/service, and being a wife which means, many times, my writing takes a back seat.  I struggle to find the time to relax and perfect my craft. It’s difficult to focus on something that doesn’t bring in immediate income.

So if I had $2 million, I would probably pay myself to be a part time writer. And with that, I would write inspirational devotionals and eventually publish them.  I would like to make them available to anyone who needs encouragement.  I would also write parenting advice and lessons learned from having three children, in which I would share ‘the good, the bad and the ugly’.  Another area I would like to devote more time to is writing a book of life skills and academic advice for teens and their parents.  In working with teens over the last several years, I’ve learned quite a bit about how they think, function and live. I’d love to be able to reach more of them and their parents through writing.

I would use a portion of the money to publish these works as well as some for marketing and public relations. As a writer, you can be really good but if no one knows who you are, you won’t get far.  Additionally, I would like to develop my speaking platform and have several of my resource and inspirational books available.
