There are so many things going on around us—in our schools, communities, cities, states and our world.  Devastating things seem to be happening at every turn.  It’s easy to get caught up in “what’s wrong” and forget about “what’s right”.  It’s easy to feel like we are out of control and forget Who is really in control.  The key to getting through tough times (or perilous times as the bible refers to them) is to hold tight to our anchor.  No matter how much the ship rocks or how uncertain and dark the storm looks, if we hold on to the anchor, we cannot be shaken.  Our anchor and certainty rests in Christ alone.  There is no substitute or alternate foundation.  If you hold fast to Him, you’ll make it through the storm.  If you lose your grasp on Him, you will get thrown off course.  We are not a people without hope because our hope and future lies within our anchor.  Anchor down!

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.

I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.

All other ground is sinking sand.
