This week, we’re choosing our favorite blogs that mean something to else and sharing our thoughts about them.  About a week ago, a friend of mine, Lindsey Williams started a blog after losing her precious baby boy.  “Hairbows and Rainbows” pays tribute to her son Ace and is helping her get through this difficult time.  I admire her courage in sharing her story with the world and including us on her painful journey.  She, her husband and two daughters are learning to play the cards they were dealt which includes giving birth to a child with Trisomy 13.  I admire her ability to grieve, but still keep going; to somehow find God in the midst of pain.

I too can identify with her sense of loss and sadness having just lost my father a few weeks ago.  One thing that keeps me going is having peace because I know where he is.  He’s in heaven reunited face-to-face with his Savior–the One whom he lived so passionately for.  I also keep going because I am an extension of his wonderful legacy.  Lest I digress too much, I want to encourage others to be like Lindsey and find the rainbow after the storm; make lemonade from lemons; put one foot in front of the other always striving to move forward.  Life throws us some harsh curve balls and we have a choice to let it knock us down forever or propel us further in our destiny.  So thank you Lindsey for helping all of us see that rainbows still exist as a reminder of God’s precious promises.
