In an age when EVERYONE is struggling to get by, it is SO NICE to walk in a “shower of blessings.” They don’t necessarily happen all the time and if it were only me, I would not mind so much. Being a parent really changes the landscape of things and you look for those showers all the time. I think in times like these, I pray even harder.
Hyper. Energetic. Full of energy. These are the adjectives I used/use to describe my son. From the cradle, to this present time. He was always a handful. Even at twenty, he can still be a handful. I think that I can handle him a little better in his/my older age. Fortunately for me, he hardly ever suffers with illness. This can be a good or a bad thing. When he does not get ill, it is a good thing when you don’t have the insurance or money to cover him. A bad thing when he does get ill and you don’t have the insurance or money to cover him.
TODAY I HAD A FEW DROPS FROM A SHOWER OF BLESSINGS. I know that I am constantly being blessed but I don’t always see the showers. Sometimes I only see a few drops. FREE DENTAL CLINIC. My son was able to have a wisdom tooth extracted for FREE! He has been saying for a couple of months that he has been having some problems with his teeth. A wisdom tooth needed to come out. As a parent, you want to do all that you can to care for your child. Sometimes a parents’ wallet and a parents’ desire for their child don’t always match up. Thankfully my desire and wallet matched today. FREE!!! The clinic did the tooth extraction and my son feels so much better.
Once I found out about the clinic, I immediately told my son and husband so that they could get there BEFORE ANYONE ELSE. Remember, I said that this was a FREE dental clinic. To ensure that he would benefit, I made certain that my son left home at 5 a.m. in order to get in line. The clinic was to begin at 7 a.m. My husband went straight from his job and arrived around 4 a.m. My husband was first in line although when they did open, the extractions were taken first, so he, my husband, ended up sixth. No matter though. MY SON WAS SECOND. Once I received this information by text, I settled down to sleep for a little while. My son is not longer in pain.
“Showers of blessings. Showers of blessings we need. Mercy drops round us are falling. But for the showers, we plea.”
I hope that you enjoy “showers of blessings” on this Funkadelic Friday.
