Serenity Sunday: Three Kids

why mom blog 2

Things got real this afternoon in Babies R Us…

We bought a baby crib for Jr.

Our seven and three year old were proud witnesses.

“TOYS! He needs toys!” Kaylee said as she pirouetted through the store aisles.

These girls can’t wait for their baby brother to be born just so they can play with him.

All they want is another little human to play with.

It’s adorable. And I’m already exhausted just thinking about all of the play time.

I inserted the debit card and looked to my children thinking,

“This time next month, I will have a third child. Like, it’s gone be three of y’all.”

While Kaylee and Karlee happily welcome this other personality, mom and dad will be going on another newborn adventure.

There will be night shifts.

Sleep deprivation.

Leaks and love.

Lots of love.

Successes, failures, and who-knows-what-else.

We’ve never had three kids before!

Needless to say, I am thrilled…

…and already exhausted.

As the girls ran around the liquidation sale like free-spirits,

Karlee, a first-time big sister, picked up a blue plush blanket.

“This is perfect for him, mom!” She said.

And even though we left the blanket, floor mat, and booties that the girls picked out…

(Seriously, we only went in there for one thing.)

…we are sure our lastborn will have everything he needs.

I admit.

We really are skating with this one.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we run into Wal-Mart real quick the day before he is born for bottles and cloth diapers.

It’s definitely different this time,

but our new life is shaping up and this quartet is looking forward to becoming an ensemble.

Three kids…

I’ve got three kids, y’all.

  1. Awww, how sweet! Your baby boy has two big sisters who will always be like his mothers that will always protect him and maybe even a little teasing too, lol! God’s blessings to your growing family.
